What to Expect
The Women’s Wellbeing & Equity Summit is a one-day convening dedicated to advancing the health, wellbeing, and empowerment of women and girls.
Hosted by 2nd Shift Playbook, a growing platform and community dedicated to supporting women navigating the intersection of work, caregiving, leadership, and personal wellbeing, this conference will bring together 150–200 women, clinicians, healthcare leaders, advocates, students, and community partners for an immersive day of education, healing, and connection.
The conference will be held on October 17, 2026 at the Bennett Global Center in Greensboro, NC.

This dynamic panel explores the critical—but increasingly threatened—roles that women play across the healthcare and social service workforce. Speakers will examine the coordinated attacks on professions such as nursing, social work, and physician assistants, and highlight how maternal–child health practitioners are essential to improving outcomes for Black women. Participants will learn:
How the erosion of the health and social service workforce directly harms communities
The historical and contemporary role of Black women professionals in public health
Best practices for collaboration across professions
Practical models showing how these professions complement one another to improve women’s health outcomes

A comprehensive workshop designed to strengthen the financial wellbeing of Black women and their families. This session demystifies financial planning and provides actionable tools for building—and protecting—wealth. Topics include:
How to identify and evaluate a trustworthy financial planner
Investment strategies and tax-advantaged practices
The importance of revocable trusts and the mechanics of generational wealth transfer
Legal essentials every family should have in place
A framework for shifting from financial survival to financial empowerment
Attendees will receive sample checklists and step-by-step guidance tailored to Black women’s lived experiences and financial goals.

A candid, evidence-based conversation that combines medical expertise with lived wisdom. Speakers will guide participants through:
The biological phases of perimenopause and menopause
New treatment options—including hormone and non-hormonal therapies
How race and gender bias shape the menopause experience for Black women
Strategies for talking to providers and advocating for symptom relief
Community-based approaches to reclaiming joy, comfort, and agency during this transition

This session takes a deep dive into the intersection of mental health, body image, and Black girlhood. Presenters will explore:
How social media, colorism, school environments, and cultural messages shape self-perception
The rising rates of anxiety, depression, and self-harm among Black girls
Effective strategies for caregivers, educators, and clinicians
Evidence-based mental health interventions tailored to Black girls’ experiences
Tools for cultivating confidence, resilience, and positive identity development

A science-forward, accessible discussion on the explosion of GLP-1 medications (Ozempic, Wegovy, etc.) and what they mean for Black women’s health. Topics include:
How GLP-1s work and who benefits
Concerns around equity, access, and stigma
Nutrition, movement, and long-term weight management strategies
What providers should know when counseling Black women on GLP-1 therapy
Real-world stories of outcomes, challenges, and opportunities

Techniques for grounding, meditation, and collective healing
How spirituality supports mental health and stress reduction
